2. New intranet
Every company is different. There's no out-of-the-box solution
for an intranet.
Roughly speaking, we go about an intranet project like this:
- User research
What do
your employees expect from the intranet? What helps them do
their daily work? What is a must-have and what merely a
nice-to-have? It doesn't matter what the management team wants
the intranet to look like. What matters is what the intranet
users want.
We help you conduct a thorough user research. That way you can
make decisions based on facts rather than opinions.

search queries, ...)

- Information architecture
The right information in the right place
is crucial for an intranet. Very often intranets are built to
mirror the company structure. Rarely is that really the best
solution.

draw a tree structure. In complex organisations, we involve a
number of employees in card sorting sessions.
The information structure is tested during a number of user
tests. That way, we can deliver a structure that actually works
for your employees and not just a structure that we as experts
think looks good.
- Mock-ups or
wireframes
A good tree structure can still be useless if you don't choose
the right navigation and page layout. That's why we make
mock-ups or wireframes of all page types.
- Functional analysis or request for proposal
The
logical end result of the above planning is a request for
proposal with a complete functional analysis of the intranet. We
pay extra attention to the usability of both the front-end and
the back-end.
- Expert feedback
Most of our customers also use our
expertise during the building of the intranet.
We make sure the functional analysis is properly executed, from
the first graphical designs till the final result.
