Work out the information structure and specifications for a
government site
An important government agency that reports directly to the Prime
Minister wanted to extend and modernise its web site. Because this
service is concerned about user-friendliness, they called on
AGConsult to help them with the project.
The primary and secondary goals of the site were defined based on
a series of interviews. The next step was to figure out which type
of information the site should contain to fulfil these goals.
AGConsult drew up the information structure, the terminology for the
navigation and the best places to provide users with cross links.
The customer was very satisfied and asked AGConsult to stay on as
consultants to supervise the rest of the project. AGConsult drew up
the quote request, with a clear description of the requirements of
both the site and the content management system.
Develop the basic structure and layout for the site of a mutual
insurance company
A large mutual insurance company wanted to renew its large site
because it had become too complicated. To make sure the new site
would live up to users' expectations, AGConsult was involved in the
project.
Through an analysis of the log files and the questions to the
call centre AGConsult charted the needs of existing and potential
customers. Based on these data, the basic structure of the site was
drawn up during a number of meetings.
AGConsult also drafted the basic layout of the homepage and other
key pages of the site. Combined with a number of specific usability
guidelines, the client has everything to successfully complete the
project.
Test a children's site, devise a number of guidelines and
supervise the realisation of the new site
The Kinderrechtencommissariaat turned to AGConsult to review the
usability of their site. The large number of usability problems and
the high maintenance cost of the static web site made the client
decide to build a new web site.
Our expertise and independence convinced the client to let
AGConsult supervise the project. AGConsult was responsible
for:
- Writing the quote request.
- Checking whether the contract with the web builder included
things like maintenance etc.
- Checking and tweaking the functional and technical
analysis.
- Checking and guiding the development of the content management
system and the web site.
- Testing the final version for usability problems and bugs.
Independent research into the usability of the b2c and b2b sites
of a large pharmaceutical company
An international pharmaceutical company wanted to know the
usability strengths and weaknesses of her existing sites in order to
make informed decisions about the requirements for the new sites.
Because the customer was convinced the research had to be
performed by a completely independent party, they contacted
AGConsult. In two weeks time, AGConsult reviewed the
user-friendliness of the client's three b2b and b2c sites, based on
a combination of expert reviews and user tests with doctors and
pharmacists.
The client was very pleased with the extensive written report and
the presentation, which will serve as guidelines for future Internet
projects.
Validation of new page designs for a large telecom operator
The in-house made new designs for the homepage and helpdesk pages
of a large telecom operator were met with mixed reviews from the
management. AGConsult was called in to help make an informed
decision about the further tweaking and implementation of the pages.
AGConsult presented the client with the results of the user test
and expert review within only three days. Based on the results of
AGConsult's research, the project was adjusted.
Test a prototype and draft a template for the site of a publisher
A large publishing house wanted to put the entire archive of its
magazines online and make it accessible for paying users. A
prototype in html was developed in-house.
Because the company realised that it's easier and cheaper to
solve problems early on, AGConsult was called in in this early stage
of the project. An expert review brought the prototype's strengths
and weaknesses to the fore. Based on our guidelines and drafts, the
prototype was optimised and passed on to an external development
company.
Thanks to AGConsult's early feedback the client was able to
develop an e-business site in a fairly short amount of time.
